ART

Children love to create! And the studies support this proclivity.  Studies have shown that both high achievers and especially those students needing support benefit from the arts. It is an excellent way to develop the right brain as well as utilizing the left in several aspects. Drama is a fine example of this, having to memorize lines while touching the emotional-social aspect within that finds expression. Almondale students have many avenues to explore their creativity.

Almondale has a long-standing tradition of advocating the arts. This is accomplished through annual plays and musical performances as well as mechanical development through drawing, painting, and sculpture. Choices in projects within the classroom employ various artistic methods:  puppetry, plays, storytelling, illustrations, bookmaking, and crafts, to name a few. The activities not only engage the child but more deeply reinforce the academics at hand.
