Mrs. Bardin

Welcome to our community. We understand that you are looking for the best school for your child — an engaging and nurturing place where your child can flourish academically and socially and become the best version of who he or she is meant to be. At Almondale Academy, we value the importance of the individual and the unique gifts that each individual brings to our dynamic school community.

Children are natural learners who thrive on observing and doing. So often, schools dampen this innate drive to achieve a mandated level of testing scores. At Almondale, our multi-age classroom allows for either acceleration or steady support as needed without the child’s self-esteem being affected.

Our teachers — besides being amazing people — are excellent facilitators in the classroom who have a trained eye for a teachable moment as it arises. Our large, country-side setting allows for students to integrate their intellectual pursuits with the open-ended and gentle support of nature. Students can have free play on our 5-acre campus as they would in their own backyard. People who visit are charmed by the adorable structures, and our serene environment.

Our education addresses the whole person — mind, heart, body, and spirit. Almondale fosters leaders and independent thinkers who have a deep compassion and well-honed sense of what it means to be a part of a community of talented and intelligent individuals. We also emphasize the power of altruism and service. Studies which focus on human happiness have found that the happiest people are those who are charitable and look to serve others as a matter of choice and habit. As a community school, service to others is the bedrock of our program.

Families matter most at Almondale. Our job is to be a supportive team with you in guiding your child. One of the most consistent compliments we receive from the families of our students is that Almondale feels like a genuine family. In fact, I’ve had several parents ask (half-seriously) if they could enroll themselves in a few classes just to have the educational experience they had always wanted when they were in school.  Our families love our social gatherings be it the Thanksgiving feast, our annual Christmas play and potluck, Science Fair, Mother’s Day Tea, Father’s Day Tee, or the PTA potlucks scattered throughout the year.

We look forward to you joining our family here at Almondale Academy!

Warm Regards,

Nola Bardin
